  • 5 % seats horizontally reserved for PwBD; certificates must be issued by one of the 16 designated centres listed by MCC.

  • OCI holders enjoy the same rights as Indian citizens for AIQ & NRI seats following the 2023 Supreme Court ruling.

5. How Choice-filling Works

  1. Mock-build your preference list offline. The portal shows thousands of permutations; prepare before logging in.

  2. Fill → rearrange → save → lock. If you don’t hit “Lock”, the system auto-locks at deadline with your last-saved order.

  3. Only higher-ranked fresh choices matter for upgrade: keep the seats you already have below the new dreams, or remove them entirely.

  4. You can reset quota selection once (e.g., deselect Deemed if you clicked it by mistake). Afterwards, a fresh registration + fee is required.

 6. Round-wise workflow

Round 1 - “Free exit”

  • Skip reporting with zero penalty or report & opt-in for upgrade.

Round 2 - “Exit with forfeiture”

  • If allotted, you must either join (and optionally seek a Round 3 upgrade) or lose your security deposit.

Round 3 - “No resignations”

  • Once you join a Round 3 seat, you’re locked; only stray-round reshuffles happen if you didn’t join.

Online stray vacancy

  • Fresh registration, very short window, allotment is final; non-joining here means a one-year NEET ban.

7. Essential document dossier

  • NEET-UG 2025 admit card & rank letter

  • Class X & XII mark-sheets + passing certificates

  • Government photo ID (AADHAAR/PAN/Passport/Driving licence)

  • Eight identical passport photos

  • Category/PwBD/EWS certificates in the prescribed MCC format (regional-language copies must carry an English/Hindi translation)

  • If claiming NRI seat: sponsor’s passport + embassy certificate + notarised fee-sponsorship affidavit + relationship proof.

 8. What’s new in 2025 vs 2024?

2024 brochure

2025 update

Four-round structure (R1-R3 + Stray) retained

Schedule advanced: counselling now starts third week of July, giving colleges a 1 Sept academic start date.

Up-gradation allowed till Round 3

Policy unchanged

PwBD reservation 5 %

Still 5 %, but more centres issuing e-certificates added (check MCC list when bulletin drops)

OCI parity introduced

Continues; expect final confirmation in upcoming 2025 bulletin

9. Frequent slip-ups to avoid

  • Using a friend’s card for fee payment, refunds will go to that account.

  • Waiting till 11:50 PM to lock choices; server traffic peaks and OTPs lag.

  • Uploading non-MCC format certificates - colleges reject them on reporting day.

  • Forgetting to download the online relieving letter before moving to an upgraded seat.

 10. Rapid-fire FAQs

  • Can I change my registered mobile number?

No - OTPs and future log-ins depend on it. Create a fresh registration if needed.

  • Does 5 % PwBD apply in Deemed universities?

Yes, for Deemed medical, check if the institute has infrastructure for your specific disability.

  • Is there a Round 4?

No. “Stray vacancy” is the mop-up, fully online for AIQ and deemed as per the 2022 Supreme Court order.

 11. Final takeaways & a nudge from Disha

Counselling is less about rank and more about clarity + clock-management. Mark the dates on your calendar today, keep PDFs of every fee receipt & letter, and rehearse the choice-locking ritual before the portal opens. If you’d like one-on-one guidance it priority college short-listing or just anxiety-busting pep talks-Disha’s verified mentors (including recent NEET toppers) are a quick call away. Book a ten-minute micro-session and enter the portal ready.

Good luck, doctors-in-the-making! 🚀
